EDUCATION

Empowering Communities Through Education

In the region where we work, the Maasai and other local tribes face significant challenges in accessing quality education. While primary education is mandatory in Kenya, it is not free, leaving many children—especially girls—without the opportunity to attend school.

Our newly established community learning centre will be completed next year J2026 and serve as a hub for everyone in the community, offering opportunities to learn essential skills such as reading, writing, and practical business knowledge. These skills will empower individuals to start and grow their own businesses, creating a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Our Mission: Building a School in Rural Kenya to Transform Lives

  • Ensure access to quality education for children who might otherwise miss the opportunity to attend school.
  • Cater to the educational needs of local children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Deliver outstanding Primary and Junior Secondary education, laying a strong foundation for higher education and inspiring students to become skilled professionals who can give back to their community.

Perhaps you would like to make a one off from £10 a monthly or a yearly payment for us to use appropriately with no restrictions?

Or perhaps you are passionate about water projects so you can specify what your money should be used for and kept informed how it is being used?

Please contact Jim Freeth jim.freeth@togetherwithkenya.org

Apprenticeships,

- in the future we hope to have an apprenticeship scheme for the young people leaving Secondary education through our TVET college system and also with local businesses please contact us for more details.

Community Sponsorship,

this is a brand new plan and which we would like to explore within our Community Learning Centre. We will ask the local community what they would like to learn, perhaps literacy or language skills need improving, or perhaps it is more practical things, like mechanics, or agriculture practises. All will need extra funding but will really help the community to raise their income levels and to give their families and their community a better life.

How is the money used?

All money is carefully audited and every penny donated will be used for the specific cause or put into the pot for extras like school trips.

Some donors are eligible for gift aid and any surplus received from this is used for providing uniform for the poorest children and improving the school to provide a better education for all.
